Wellness Exam

Fortunately for horse owners, our equine partners are living longer, healthier lives and staying active well into their twenties. There is nothing we want more than to promote and encourage this way of life for the horse. Several factors play a role in a horse’s healthy lifestyle such as exercise, nutrition, and healthcare. Preventative maintenance is your greatest tool when staying on top of your horse’s health, and our wellness program is a great addition to ensuring a healthy lifestyle for your horses.

During our standard exam, we will review your horse’s medical history; check his or her heart, lungs, stomach sounds, eyes, and mouth. We will discuss and make recommendations for optimal care and diet and ensure your horse is current on vaccinations.

Diagnostic Testing

Depending on the recommendation of your veterinarian and the needs of the animal, we have numerous resources and state-of-the-art equipment to provide a variety of diagnostic tests and services including but not limited to:

  • Blood, stool, or urine tests
  • Digital radiographs
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy

Deworming and Treatment for Internal Parasites

Unfortunately, all horses are susceptible to worms and other internal parasites. Regular deworming is a crucial part of your horse’s health. Fecal
exams allow us to identify your horse’s current parasite load and shed status and allow us to tailor a deworming schedule that’s right for your horse’s
individual needs.

Treatment for Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine

We strive to avoid serious problems before they happen. We believe in preventative medicine, education, and providing owners with as many tools as
possible when managing their equine partner’s health. Nonetheless, things do happen. If your horse should end up ill or injured, we are here with a
state-of-the-art hospital, around-the-clock care, and many resources to treat and care for your horse.

This is just a sample of the many services we offer. Please browse the pages under Our Services tab for more information. Though we do specialize in horses, please
keep in mind that we love working on cattle and small ruminants as well.
